Flaming Spiced Red Wine at the German Centre

On 9 December 2005, after a year’s break, the long-awaited day arrived once again: Traditional flaming spiced red wine, the cult winter beverage known as Feuerzangenbowle in Germany, at the German Centre. Around 300 guests gathered to have fun, entertain themselves and spend a great evening with the German community in Shanghai.

The German Centre was the host of the evening, in cooperation with the German Chamber of Commerce. From 18.30 h guests enjoyed fresh wheat beer on tap, grilled bratwurst, coffee, soft drinks and of course the drink Feuerzangenbowle made according to the original recipe.

Later in the evening, as a natural counterpart to the drink, the film Feuerzangenbowle was shown, and the best scenes excitedly discussed and commented on by audience members. Numerous guests have already signalled their participation in the Feuerzangenbowle evening 2006. We’re already looking forward to it....
